Traffic Signs

Traffic signs are emblems or symbols that covey information and instructions to drivers. Traffic signs are classified as regulatory, warning and guide signs. A regulatory sign provides notice of traffic laws or regulations. Warning signs call attention to conditions on a highway or street that are potentially hazardous. Guide signs show route designations, destinations, directions, distances, services, points of interest and others. You may find road signs on the side or above the roads. Colors also play an important role in defining the meaning of a traffic sign. For example, red is commonly used for Stop and Yield signs, do not enter and wrong way sign denoting urgency and danger. Yellow symbols typically give you a warning and are used for school signs. Whether you are going to take a driving test or you need to review the meaning of any signs, brush up your knowledge by accessing the Arkansas Driver License Manual. For the manual, visit:
