Arkansas Cell Phone Laws

In the state of Arkansas, the use of all kinds of cellphones are banned for school bus drivers, drivers 18 and under at all times and for all drivers when driving during school zones or highway construction zones. The use of hand-held cellphones is prohibited for drivers between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. Text messaging is not permitted by any drivers, including school bus drivers and drivers 18 and under. Both the use of cellphones and texting has been directly linked to many accidents and fatalities. In an effort to decrease cellphone-related accident rates and provide highway safety, these laws are being enforced by the Arkansas authorities. The Arkansas Highway Safety Office is in charge of using federal and state highway safety funds and other resources to save lives and reduce injuries.
