SR-22 Insurance

SR-22 is a certificate of financial responsibility where "SR" stands for "safety responsibility." This document proves that someone has automobile insurance. In the state of Arkansas, the law requires all individuals to have liability insurance. This type of insurance covers the other person's damages. The minimum amount of liability coverage is $25,000 for bodily injury or death of one person in any one accident; $50,000 for bodily injury or death of two or more persons in any one accident and $25,000 for damage to or destruction of the property of others. An SR-22 is prepared and filed by your insurance company with your state motor vehicle department. This document is not an insurance policy. It is an evidence of the policy. You may be requested to provide SR-22 to reinstate a driver's license after being convicted of a DUI/DWI, reckless driving, driving without insurance or any other driving violation resulting in a suspension.
